PROCEED WITH CAUTION
Created circa 2011 Bennoah Art and design
Chicago, Illinois
This design embodies the concept of a world were birth and constriction is the order of the day.
The infant i n the bird cage represents the embodied soul that has to be trained to navigate creation forward to the fruit of the tree of life represented by the glass apple filled with white and black marbles that represent the concept of duality and life. The apple a fruit of Gan Eden is representative of the fruits of both the tree of life and the tree of Knowledge good and evil.

THE MERCY SEAT
Created By Bennoah Art and design circa 2009 Chicago, Illinois A curios design made from a awkward looking mirror found in a Chicagoland thrift store approximately 20' x 11' x 7' fabricated by a blending other found object pieced together into a mosaic representing the biblical flood story of Noah and the Ark. On a whimsical idea the artist sought to create the image of The Ark being a portending of the First Covenant given to Noah, also known as the Covenant of the Rainbow. The piece features a central cherub figure over seeing an elemental development. The wings opened and closed allowing the owner of this fine work to awe it's viewers with a story of The flood, G-d's mercy and the development of man kind. As the artist is a Noahite by faith his special interest in the ark story is evident here. A crystal mercy seat is set as the hubris point in the work. The wings were added to add essence to the commanding cherubim overseeing the journey of the ark across the waters. Beneath the Crystal Mercy Seat is a motif of the ark showing the animals leaving the Ark on dry land. The motif repeats itself in many of the Artist's works. The piece weighs approximately 5 pounds and is a very delicate and fragile work. The central connection to the biblical narrative in the artistic development is that this many have been the original concept of the Ark of The Covenant. The artist just decided to run with the narrative like a child with scissors. |
